Town to search for new CAO

Wilfred Hass will return to his previous position as Director of Economic Development and Tourism.

The Town of Kirkland Lake will soon be searching for a new Chief Administrative Officer.

In a press release officials stated “Council of the Town of Kirkland Lake would like to announce that Wilfred Hass will return to his previous position as Director of Economic Development and Tourism.

“Hass began his career with the Town in 2000 as a contract Project Manager in Economic Development. He assumed progressively responsible positions becoming Director in 2007. He returns to the field during one of the most exciting periods of economic growth in the Town’s history. “I look forward to being able to focus on this important job during these exciting times” says Hass.

“KL has gone through a rough patch. We asked Mr. Hass to assume the position of interim CAO in order to regain stability and set the foundation for the future”, said Mayor Pat Kiely.

Kirkland Lake has operated with an interim CAO since 2018. “We’ve been lucky to have a great group of committed and dedicated employees. We will soon receive the report from Strategy Corp, and we feel that now is the right time to begin preparations for a new era”. Mayor Kiely explained that the search for a new CAO will begin in the coming weeks.

“This will be great opportunity for a progressive person seeking new challenges.”
